NY Jets Break Silence on CB Tae Hayes’ Arrest After Second Degree Misdemeanor of Being Charged With Marijuana

Before the dust could settle after Aaron Rodgers’ unaccounted absence, the New York Jets found themselves in more trouble. Another Jets player missing out on the team might have been easier to deal with than the legal trouble that the Jets CB Tae Hayes has found himself in. Rich Cimini, the NFL Nation reporter took to X and broke the news about Tae Hayes getting arrested in Alabama by Trinity PD.

He was charged with marijuana possession, a second-degree misdemeanor, per Trinity PD. His arrest was official but he was bailed within a matter of hours for a measly fee of $300. Cimini’s post on X said, “Jets CB Tae Hayes, 26, was arrested early Sunday in Alabama and charged with marijuana possession, a second-degree misdemeanor, per Trinity PD records. An official at the Morgan County jail confirmed the arrest, but declined to give further information.“

The NFL reporter further wrote, “He was booked at 3:46 am and released at 5:07 am on $300 bond. A Jets spokesman said the team is aware of the situation and will refrain from further comment, as it is a pending legal matter. Hayes played in one game for the #Jets last season. He has played in 14 games for several teams.”

As understood from Cimini’s post on X, the Jets team through their spokesman has revealed awareness of the situation, while refraining from commenting on the same in detail due to the legality of the case.
