If you’re in the market for a productivity laptop with great performance but can’t swing upwards of $1,000 for one that’ll last you several years, take advantage of this B&H deal: a Lenovo IdeaPad 5i 2-in-1 laptop for just $699, a big price drop with this $300 discount.
This laptop packs an Intel Core 7 255U, a 2025-era high-efficiency CPU that offers upper-mid-range performance, perfect for productivity laptops with thin-and-light designs. It’s not the best CPU for gaming or other resource-intensive tasks, so don’t get this if you’re planning on lots of video editing or running local AI tools.
It also packs 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which is just enough for smooth and responsive Windows 11 usage day to day, but it’s soldered so you won’t be able to replace it down the line, whether to upgrade to more RAM or replace RAM when it dies. The 512GB SSD is also mid—fast enough for daily file transfers and quick system boots, but you’ll feel cramped if you download lots of video or install lots of apps.
The user experience is pretty standard, with a 16-inch IPS touchscreen at a native 1920×1200 resolution. That 360-degree hinge is nice, allowing you to fold it all the way back and use it like a tablet or prop it up like a tent for comfortable screen viewing (say, when watching Netflix or reading large PDF documents). Ports are also pretty standard with HDMI 2.1, dual USB-C, dual USB-A, and a microSD card slot. And the webcam is IR so you can use it for Windows Hello face unlock.
Though unimpressive at full price, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5i is a great buy now that it’s down to $699. Check out our review of this laptop where we said it’s a good value if you can score it on sale. If you want to spend even less, see our picks for the best laptops under $500.
