Buffalo Bills star quarterback Josh Allen beat out Baltimore Ravens counterpart Lamar Jackson on the field last weekend.
On Feb. 6, we’ll find out if Allen scores another victory at the ballot box.
Allen and Jackson headline the five finalists for the NFL’s AP MVP award, revealed Thursday.
Jackson was named the AP First-Team All-Pro QB earlier this month, so many feel he is favoured to win his third MVP award.
Allen never has earned the MVP nod, but his Bills beat the Ravens 27-25 in the divisional playoff round last weekend.
No Bill has won the MVP honour since star running back Thurman Thomas in 1991.
Interestingly, Jackson is nominated for the Offensive Player of the Year award, while Allen is not.
Voters rank their top five picks for MVP and top three for other awards.
