It was already a trainwreck for Ryan Garcia when he tested positive for PED after the Devin Haney win. However, there was still hope that his legal team would be able to prove the boxer was a victim of a contaminated supplement. But Team Garcia failed to, avoid a one-year ban by the New York State Atheltic Commission and save Garcia’s victory against Haney. In this connection, Garcia took out his frustration in a manner which led to his expulsion from the WBC. Now, the boxer from California reached out to Floyd Mayweather.
In now a deleted tweet, Ryan Garcia recently expressed racist and anti-Muslim sentiments which caught the attention of Mauricio Sulaiman, the President of WBC. He strongly condemned Garcia’s comments as the WBC took a firm stand against discrimination based on race and religion. So, having exercised his authority as the President, Sulaiman expelled “Ryan Garcia from any activity with our organization.” Now, in the soup, ‘KingRy’ turned to Mayweather.
Although Garcia fought against Gervonta Davis a fighter formerly promoted by Mayweather Promotions, the boxer from California held ‘Money’ in high regard. In fact, Garcia trained with Mayweather in the past and publicly lauded Mayweather’s guidance. And now in the wake of his expulsion from the WBC, Garcia uploaded a training video on Instagram. In the brief clip, he is heard saying, “I’m still working.” ‘KingRy’ also tagged Floyd Mayweather.
“Working hard @floydmayweather,” the 25-year-old added.
