Marrying 9 Years Younger Dwyane Wade Gives Wife Gabrielle the Upper Hand Due to These Reasons

“When I met Dwyane, his resume looked like crap: athlete, going through a divorce, nine years younger than me. None of that screamed, ‘Let’s have a lasting relationship’,” This was the first impression of Dwyane Wade on Gabrielle, which she stated in 2014. At first, being hesitant to give Wade a chance and then going through a tough period in between, the couple has come out stronger than ever. However, the age gap between the two has somehow surrounded a lot of chatter. And this time Gabrielle spoke about the advantage that she has.

On the podcast Why Not Me? with Mike Jackson, he shared that he was too older than his spouse, 18 years to be exact. Jackson then asked Gabrielle what an elder person could bring to the table, in a relationship. “I have foresight that comes from experience just more years on this Earth,” Gabrielle responded.

The Miami Heat legend’s wife also said she was unsure if it was an “Age thing or just me thing or a Scorpio thing or the Phoenix that Rose from those from that dust”, but she could “see people more likely than not for exactly who they are and for what exactly precisely they want.”

Empashing that she could navigate certain things thanks to other people’s experiences she had witnessed, the 51-year-old added, “We don’t all need to get hit in the head to learn to duck.”

So Gabrielle claims to be the person yelling duck in the relationship with Dwyane Wade. But the relationship was not always a fairytale for the couple.

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle were separated?

The pair met in 2007 at a SuperBowl party, a year after Union’s divorce from NFL pro, Chris Howard was finalized. They made their relationship official in 2010, at the Summer Groove Benefit Dinner in Florida. But at the beginning of 2013, the couple went their separate ways citing work issues.

During the break, Dwyane Wade would have a child, Xavier, with Basketball Wives star, Aja Metoyerin. But the reunion of Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle happened in April 2013. And since then they both are back stronger than ever. Married in 2014, in Florida, the couple has again been in the news since last year, due to rumors of them breaking up again.

However, this time through social media, the couple ended the rumors before they could be fueled further. The marriage had its ups and downs and even Dwyane Wade’s mother was not happy with their relationship, but the couple has found the balance.
