A lot has happened with RFK Racing ever since Brad Keselowski joined as a co-owner in 2022. With an impressive finish of P7 in the standings last season, the team certainly looks to be making progress. However, there’s still a long way to go before they can reach the heights of the team’s championship triumph in 2003 and 2004.
Keselowski being a Cup Series winner in 2012, very well knows what it takes to win it. With his plethora of experience in the competition, RFK Racing certainly benefits a lot from him being part of the team’s management. That said, it will take plenty to take his team to the next level.

Being a Cup Series team owner isn’t an easy job. While what happened with Stewart-Haas Racing displays the tough dynamics of the sport, RFK Racing has done pretty well to survive for over three decades. In fact, their championship triumph in 2003 and 2004 are a testament to how effective they can be.
While they have struggled to find success since then, the addition of Brad Keselowski certainly makes a difference. Having started in over 500 Cup Series races, the Michigan-born driver is undoubtedly a veteran in the sport. Additionally, his involvement in the team’s decision-making makes it only more interesting.
In fact, the very reason why he left Team Penske was to be more involved in the managerial decisions. Having won his first Cup Series race with RFK Racing at Darlington, Brad Keselowski couldn’t be more confident right now. While it is a start for better times, the #6 driver spoke about the team’s future.
Ahead of the race at Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday, Keselowski explained how the addition of sponsors helps the team. He said, “Well, it takes a lot of capital and a lot of cash to make the investments we need to reinvigorate the company. I think we’ve done a pretty good job of that but we still have room to grow.”

Further, Keselowski claimed RFK Racing stands fourth or the fifth-best team in the Cup Series right now. In his words, “We are not the top team. We want to be a top-three organization consistently, so we need to take another step to get there and that takes money. There’s no way around it, so I think our work on corporate partnerships is hopefully going to continue to elevate us into where we can realize that goal.”
While sponsorships are key to progress, so are championships. Without a doubt, RFK Racing needs to win a Cup Series title to be considered among the top teams. Interestingly, Keselowski has a vision for that as well.
Brad Keselowski reveals an incisive strategy that could help teams to win the Cup Series
There is no doubt that Brad Keselowski is well-versed with the challenges of the Cup Series. While he knows what it takes to win a championship, he believes the off-track planning plays an equally important role in that. In fact, he detailed what RFK Racing could do right away to be successful by the end of the season.
Speaking on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Keselowski said, “I gave this speech to our team the other day and to our entire company that the championship is won right now. It’s won by the work and the effort that’s done during the summer months to prepare the best cars and best teams possible. It’s easy to lose sight of that.”

It is an interesting approach and more so given how his playoff position more or less looks secured. While his team can afford to invest time in building a better future, Keselowski provided an interesting perspective. He said, “We all think that the races and championships are won on the last lap but for the majority of it you put yourself in position over the summer months by making really good decisions on what to value in the race cars and in the team.”
These are valuable insights from the 40-year-old who has looked in good touch this season. While bringing in more sponsorships will help the team grow, nothing will help more than positive results on the track. Hopefully, with a good performance in the 2024 season, Brad Keselowski and RFK Racing’s stature growth will be served.
