‘Lost All Respect’: Paige Spiranac & Fans Are Fed Up as Bryson DeChambeau Faces ‘Hatred’ Despite 2024 U.S Open Win

It was the day before the start of the 124th U.S. Open. Paige Spiranac had just dished out her predictions for the major championship. And guess what? She got it right! The diva had dubbed her friend Bryson DeChambeau as a top pick for the event back then. Now, fast forward to Sunday, the LIV Golf Pro has emerged victorious at the event with a scintillating performance. But some don’t seem to find his triumph much of a good news.

As soon as the golfer won his second major championship at Pinehurst No. 2, Brandel Chamblee, a Golf Channel analyst and commentator, went ahead to dub the same as “good fortune.” Spiranac, however, didn’t appear too enthusiastic about the former professional’s comment as she took to her social media to point out the same. She shared a tweet on X saying, “Brandel saying “good fortune” is why Bryson won the US Open is wild. Doesn’t even try to hide his hatred for him. Smh.”

The diva appeared to be virtually “shaking her head” after hearing the analyst deny DeChambeau’s skills by calling his win something that came out of a stroke of luck. Chamblee has, more often than not, expressed his dislike for the Saudi-backed league and its players (remember his longstanding tensions with Phil Mickelson and recent kerfuffle with Antony Kim on X?).

The fans, just like Spiranac, weren’t too keen on the commentator dubbing Bryson DeChambeau’s recent win as a lucky one. They rushed to the tweet to express their support for the 30-year-old ‘Showman’ of golf while looking on in awe at the 6-under 274 that helped the Crushers GC skipper clinch his second U.S. Open title.

The LIV Golf Pro scored a total of 17 birdies, alongside nine bogeys, 2 and 3 respectively of which came on the final day of play at the U.S. Open. The athlete was, thus, able to register a figure of 1-over par 71 on Sunday while emerging triumphant over the likes of Rory McIlroy who finished at T2 and lost out the title by just one stroke. A fan couldn’t help but point out how awesome the win was as they went, “I thought it was pretty damn epic myself, what a finish!”

The Northern Irishman, by the back nine, had tied with the LIV Golf Pro at the top of the leaderboard. His 5 birdies which came out in the final round helped him close the distance with the 30-year-old. Unfortunately, three bogeys at the par-3 15th, par-4 16th, and the par-4 18th proved costly for the 4-time major champ, costing him his chance at another win. An enthusiast, consequently, highlighted; “Bryson earned this, Rory choke of the century.” Another follower, meanwhile, commented, “Let’s be right Rors lost that – Bryson great par save – g8 win.” DeChambeau had, at the final hole on the 18th, chipped in the ball from the bunker to hit it for a par putt before jumping in joy at emerging victorious.

Chamblee has not been too keen on liking the Middle Eastern League. Moreover, he has not shied away from expressing the same to the world many times over the years. During his online tussle with Anthony Kim, he had even expressed his displeasure at the LIV Golf pros’ willingness to deal with the Public Investment Fund. But the fans weren’t too keen on reciprocating the same this time around as they conveyed their dissatisfaction with the commentator while responding, “No one worried about what Brandel says anymore. This is a popular win and he knows it.” Another user on X pointed out how the commentary and the broadcasting network were apparent in their biased opinion while mentioning, “Lost all respect for NBC crew. Openly rooting for Rory. Great job Bryson!”

Well, the 2-time major champ truly did turn a lot of heads with his win at Pinehurst, be it Chamblee’s or his fans. He sure did dish out his best on an otherwise difficult course which even the defending champion, Wyndham Clark, had dubbed ‘borderline.’ Hats off, Bryson DeChambeau!
