On the June 26th episode of The Pregame Show Network’s Wednesdays with Warren, Colorado’s new quality analyst coach, Warren Sapp, shared a situation during summer practice camp where he got really upset at the Buffaloes’ silly errors during training. This season is all about a comeback for the Buffaloes, and Coach Sapp knows that already, given his good bond with Coach Prime even before he joined the team. Therefore, even though Sapp does not have much to do in his inaugural year with the Buffaloes, he still gives his best to the defensive side with his seasoned expertise as a defensive tackle in the NFL. After all, it all comes down to one mission— building the team in a way that protects Shedeur Sanders at all costs.
Last week, as Warren recounted, the D-line players started making silly mistakes by jumping offside, which really frustrated him. “I am standing down just looking, and you know. So the second group comes in… He jumped outside too,” said Sapp. “I got real heated. I said a couple of choice words to them and then I walked off without even saying anything.”

Sapp further added that those mistakes by the Buffaloes made him question himself if he was able to get through to them. “I almost just went into a combustible rage,” added the Buffaloe coaching staff. “And then I caught them in the weight room and I said, ‘If you don’t want me here and do what you did today ’cause you got me really questioning whether I am even, you know, getting through to you.’”
Later on, Sapp reflected on his rage and behavior with the student-athletes and realized there should be a balance between his strict and supportive approach. “So maybe there are going to be days like that, you know. But I am gonna love on them, you know, and a little bit this week,” Sapp hilariously added.
