Draymond Green’s road trip with the TNT crew turned out to be a life-changing experience for him. After his playoff dream came to an end this year, the Golden State Warriors center joined Inside the NBA, who are covering games at Dallas and Minnesota alternatively, for the Western Conference Finals. Green’s visit to Minnesota changed his perspective about the state, and he has developed some love for the people there and the weather. Anyhow this is exactly the complete opposite for a Minnesota Timberwolves superfan, whose 35-year-long streak has come to an end.
Jimmy Goldstein, a 84-year-old businessman is an ardent fan of Minnesota basketball. To put it in simple words, he is what Spike Lee is for the New York Knicks. There is a record that Goldstein was proud of. He had never missed a Conference Finals game with the Wolves in it, in the last 35 years, until today. If Goldstein has to blame something, it is the weather in Minnesota.
Goldstein revealed, “I’m not happy” after Minnesota weather forced DFW airport to delay their flights. The Wolves extended the series with a last-minute thriller in game 4 against the Dallas Mavericks. This was the perfect chance for Goldstein to support his team, who just got their momentum in the series. Sadly, the weather was not favorable for him today. On the other hand, Draymond Green loves everything about Minnesota, their people, the lakes, the weather, and whatnot. He said on his podcast, “I just didn’t know like anyone had anything about their state that was anything about lakes…And so, I gained a little more love for the state of Minnesota because y’all a lot like us.”
Won’t be in attendance for tonight’s Game 5 between the Mavs & Wolves due to weather delays, but I’m not the only one.
NBA superfan Jimmy Goldstein will miss his 1st conference finals game in 35 years due to DFW’s massive airport delays.
