Opening up further, Pratik noted, “Don’t tweak the history, either because with your incompetence to understand or interpret or to appease somebody. You can’t and you should not be doing that. That’s the biggest disservice you do to the whole generation or your audience. I want to keep myself away from this. This is a basic responsibility of an actor and a discipline of an actor.”

We were also curious to know whether the filming was challenging for the stars. Pratik said, “When I read it as a reader, when I see it as a viewer, it is very heavy. When we perform, understand we are showing a time when this was a common thing. So it can’t be heavy on them. They have lived their life day in and day out. It was normalized for them. That fact is hitting you hard. That fact got converted in the performance, lines and the overall feel. When we were performing, we weren’t supposed to make it heavy. It was a way of life for them, which they were fighting against.”
