With how crafty hackers are getting, PC antivirus has never been more important. Every computer needs adequate protection, and I’ve relied on Bitdefender for years without issue. Today, you can get Bitdefender’s cheapest individual plan—originally $70 for one year—at a 50% discount, bringing it down to just $35 for your first year.
All of Bitdefender’s yearly plans are on sale right now, but the biggest discount and the cheapest price belong to Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, which provides protection for up to 3 devices as well as access to Bitdefender’s VPN for up to 200 MB of traffic per day per device. Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS are all supported.
Protection includes automatic malware flagging that catches viruses, Trojans, ransomware, and rootkits, plus on-demand vulnerability scans for when you think your system is compromised.
I wouldn’t pay more for the higher plans, but the option is there if you want those features. For twice the price, you can get Bitdefender Total Security which supports 5 total devices and includes a password manager. For almost triple the price, you can also unlock unlimited VPN traffic, ad blocking, anti-tracking, and scam/email protection.
Those extra features are attainable elsewhere for free, though, so stick with the Plus plan unless you need the extra device coverage. At $35 for your first year, it’s a fantastic deal if you’re short on security. If you’re still unsure, compare against other security suites in PCWorld’s picks for the best Windows antivirus software.
