Suriya Lends His Voice to Vishwanath & Sons’ Second Single

The promotional campaign for Suriya’s upcoming romantic drama Vishwanath & Sons is gathering momentum. With just over a month to go before the film arrives in theatres, composer GV Prakash Kumar has given fans another reason to celebrate by confirming that Suriya himself has sung the film’s second single.

The announcement comes just days after the release of Pattampoochi, the film’s first track, which quickly found its way onto playlists and social media feeds. While the makers are yet to reveal the title or release date of the upcoming song, the latest update has already fuelled excitement among fans eager to hear Suriya behind the microphone once again.

GV Prakash teases another energetic track

Taking to social media on Monday, GV Prakash shared that the second single from Vishwanath & Sons will be a dance number performed by Suriya. The lyrics have been penned by filmmaker and lyricist Ken Karunaas, best known for directing Youth and contributing memorable songs over the years.

The composer, however, chose to keep a few surprises under wraps. The title of the track and its launch date have not yet been disclosed, leaving fans speculating about when the next musical offering will arrive.

The update follows the successful release of Pattampoochi, a colourful number featuring Mamitha Baiju in a lively dance performance. Sung by Sublahshini and written by Arunraja Kamaraj, the track also featured chorus vocals by Aavani Malhar, Jerina Anna, Kaanjana Sreeram and Aruna Mary George. Its catchy hook step has since gone viral across social media platforms, becoming one of the early highlights of the film’s promotional campaign.

Suriya returns to the recording studio

Although primarily known for his performances on screen, Suriya has occasionally stepped into the recording booth over the years. Most recently, he sang Love Detox from Retro, drawing praise from fans for his energetic rendition.

His previous songs include Ek Do Teen from Anjaan, Cha Cha Charey from Party and the much-loved Maara Theme from Soorarai Pottru. With Vishwanath & Sons, the actor is once again adding a personal touch to the soundtrack, making the upcoming dance number one of the film’s most anticipated songs.

Directed by Venky Atluri, Vishwanath & Sons is described by its makers as “a heartfelt journey of dreams, emotions, and unexpected love”. The film reportedly revolves around the romance between a middle-aged man and a much younger woman, exploring themes of companionship, societal perceptions and emotional healing. Suriya plays Sanjay Vishwanath, a businessman whose character is said to draw inspiration from his iconic role in Ghajini.

The film features an impressive ensemble cast led by Mamitha Baiju alongside Suriya. The supporting cast includes Radikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Bhavani Sri, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Srija Ravi, Sarvadaman Banerjee, Mathew Varghese, Kalyani Natarajan, Karate Karthik and Master Charvik.

Produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments and Sai Soujanya under Fortune Four Cinemas, the film is presented by Srikara Studios. The technical crew includes cinematographer Nimish Ravi, editor Navin Nooli and production designer Banglan, with GV Prakash Kumar composing the soundtrack.

With Pattampoochi already becoming a social media favourite and the promise of a Suriya-sung dance number on the way, Vishwanath & Sons is steadily building anticipation ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on August 14.
