Bangalore Chennai Expressway is one of the under construction expressway touted to strengthen India's road connectivity.
It is a first expressway in South India, which is likely to make a huge impact on the economy, real estate in particular.
The Expressway is one of the 26 new expressways that the government is building to boost India's road infrastructure.
To be developed at an estimated Rs.17,000 crores, expressway would considerably cut the travel time between the two cities.
The national Expressway NE-7, will cover 262 km, passing through Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
The starting point of Expressway would be Hosekot in Bangalore and will end at Sriperumbudhur in Tamil Nadu's Kanchipuram.
Constructed on a build operate transfer basis, 4 lane, double decker elevated road Expressway will include 8 major bridges.
The Road transport minister, Nitin Gadkari told media that the NHAI is aiming to complete by March 2024.
It will strengthen the economic activities in Bangalore and Chennai and also connect industrial hub in the 3 states.
