The Walworth County Commission held a regular meeting on Tuesday (Dec. 6th).

The board approved the bid purchase of a Trail King Bottom Dump gravel trailer for the highway department through Butler Equipment.

Sheriff Josh Boll informed the commissioners that the Brown County jail will not be able to take in Walworth County inmates on January 1st.

Commissioner Scott Schilling added that he expects Brown County to contact him soon about their regional jail plans with other counties.

Master Transportation Plan

Commissioner Schilling commented on his disappointment in the turnout at the recent meeting regarding the Master Transportation Plan for Walworth County.

Walworth County Auditor Deb Kahl added that without the public’s input, decisions will be made by the State and an appointed committee.

Also at Tuesday’s meeting, the commission voted to give the Auditor permission to advertise for budget supplements, which will then be approved at the board’s final meeting in December.  Auditor Kahl said this is necessary so that no funds start the new year with a negative balance.

A motion passed on the American Rescue Plan funds.  Commissioner Duane Mohr read the Resolution.

Executive Session

After an executive session, the commissioners passed a motion to authorize advertisement for a full-time administrative assistant in the State’s Attorney’s office.
