Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One star Vanessa Kirby has once again spoken on the rumors that she would be taking on the role of Sue Storm for the Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot of the Fantastic Four. According to Kirby, playing the Invisible Woman would be an honor.
Vanessa Kirby was recently on the red carpet for the premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. When a journalist from Variety caught up with the actress, they once more asked her about the rumors that she would be playing Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman, in the upcoming MCU reboot of the Fantastic Four. While Kirby has spoken on the rumors before, she reiterated that it would be an “honor” to play the character:
Vanessa Kirby isn’t the only high profile star rumored to be up for the role. Every actress from Margot Robbie to Emma Stone have all been in the spotlight at one time or another to play Sue Storm. While there’s no confirmation of when the cast of Fantastic Four will be revealed, recent rumors of casting stalling due to being unable to lock certain stars may lead to fans having to wait longer than they’d like for news about the MCU’s First Family.
What we know about the Fantastic Four movie
The Fantastic Four reboot is expected to be a fresh take on the classic Marvel characters, with a new cast. Matt Shakman is directing the movie from a screenplay by Josh Friedman. It is currently scheduled to hit theaters in 2025.
John Krasinski played the Earth-838 variant of Reed Richards in Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but his future as the character is currently in doubt. Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt has said that she’s hopeful we’ll see the actor back as Richards for Fantastic Four.
