Georgia inside linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson is among the high returning linebackers for the 2023 season, in response to Professional Soccer Focus (PFF).
Johnson is available in at No. 4 after exceeding expectations as a first-year starter because the Bulldogs secured their second consecutive nationwide title.

Johnson earned Butkus Award semifinalist and All-SEC second staff honors after a season by which he totaled 70 tackles (second on the staff), 4 sacks (second on the staff), 9 tackles for loss (led staff), with three cross breakups and one compelled fumble in 15 video games.
“Dumas-Johnson is the following nice Georgia linebacker, following previous Bulldog greats resembling Roquan Smith and Nakobe Dean. In actual fact, over the previous two seasons, the one SEC linebacker with the next grade than Dumas-Johnson is Dean. The sophomore led the SEC this season with a 79.9 run-defense grade.” – PFF
Johnson was requested to the fill the void after 2021 Butkus Award winner Nakobe Dean was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles and rapidly turned one of many Bulldogs defensive leaders in 2022.
Georgia needs to be in good arms at inside linebacker with rising juniors Johnson and Smael Mondon coming into their second season as starters in 2023.
