The Atlanta Falcons currently have the eighth overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
And while landing an elite prospect like Georgia’s Jalen Carter at that spot seemed impossible months ago, he might be available when they’re on the clock on April 27.
Recently, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that Carter would meet with the Falcons on Tuesday.
Georgia DT Jalen Carter is visiting the Atlanta Falcons today. He then will have visited each team picking 5-10: the Seahawks (5), Lions (6), Raiders (7), Falcons (8), Bears (9) and Eagles (10).

He will have visited all teams drafting 5 through 10, namely the Seattle Seahawks (5), Detroit Lions (6), Las Vegas Raiders (7), Chicago Bears (9), and Philadelphia Eagles (10).
Carter’s attempts to go back to the top four have been unsuccessful, according to agent Drew Rosenhaus, so he’ll have to reconsider his strategy and have a sit-down with these teams.
He was considered the best prospect in this class for most of the year or a top-three selection at worse.
However, his involvement in a fatal car crash earlier in the year made multiple teams shy away from him, and some doubts about his character and work ethic emerged.
Carter arrived at his Pro Day nearly nine pounds heavier than he did at the NFL Combine, and he wasn’t exactly impressive in the drills, either.
His physicality and natural talents are notorious, and he was a stalwart during his days with the Bulldogs.
Nonetheless, some reports about not being mature enough have made his draft stock plummet drastically over the past couple of weeks.
The talented DT logged six sacks and 18.5 tackles for a loss in his three years with the reigning national champions, so it won’t be shocking to see any team take a chance on him despite all these concerns.
