The Philadelphia 76ers have one of the most stacked rosters in the league, featuring Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Tyrese Maxey.

However, it seems like they just can’t seem to get over the hump, constantly underperforming when it matters the most.

That’s why Colin Cowherd made a hilarious comparison, stating that they’re the Kirk Cousins of the NBA.

The controversial pundit explained that he doesn’t trust that team to get the job done, adding that they shrink when the lights are the brightest.

He went on to talk about Doc Rivers’ well-documented history of playoff meltdowns, as well as James Harden’s history of no-shows in the postseason.

The Sixers have taken the TD Garden by storm twice in this series already, but they haven’t been able to string two good games together to take care of business.

The Boston Celtics have also been fairly inconsistent for the better part of the playoffs, which is why some are no longer convinced of their status as legit NBA championship contenders.

Moreover, with the Miami Heat on the verge of taking the New York Knicks down, it’s hard to envision either of those teams taking four of seven games in the conference finals unless they bring in their A-game night in and night out.

Just like Kirk Cousins, the 76ers need to justify that steep payroll and all the hype and expectations around them, as there’s no point in being great in the regular season and then crumbling under pressure when the season is actually on the line.
