Jon Rahm has decided to pull out from this year’s U.S. Open. On Tuesday, Rahm appeared in flip-flops with a toe separator at the press conference. The Spanish International was dealing with a lesion between his pinky toe and the fourth toe. The former U.S. Open champion revealed that the situation was getting better.
However, in a post later, Jon Rahm, announced he had to withdraw from the third major of the season. The two-time major winner wrote in his X (formerly Twitter) handle, “After consulting with numerous doctors and my team, I have decided it is best for my long term health, to withdraw from this weeks US Open Championship.” Rahm previously withdrew from the LIV Golf Houston a week back, which put a question mark on his U.S. Open future.
The Spanish International added, “ To say I’m disappointed is a massive understatement! I wish all my peers the best of luck and want to thank all of the USGA staff, volunteers and community of Pinehurst for hosting and putting on what I’m sure will be an amazing championship! Hopefully I’ll be back in action sooner than later!”

Rahm, in his first season at LIV Golf, has played spectacular golf, notching top-10s in consecutive tournaments. However, his major has left much to be desired. The Legion XIII captain netted a T45 at Augusta and missed the cut at the PGA Championship.
