It looks like the Dallas Mavericks’ final leg of the postseason run has some added drama to it, too. Courtesy of a former Mavs player, the Internet is abuzz with the latest development involving two hot names of the series – Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. Since the Mavericks won the Conference Finals, in fact, even before, all anybody could talk about was Kyrie Irving and the Cs.
One of the most controversial guards, ‘Uncle Drew’ has been in his more than fair share of troubles. On and off the court. And one of them so happens to be with Boston. While nothing as explosive as his Nets time, the Celtics fans do not like him and they make it known. Even five years after he left the franchise, they still do. So, everyone was looking forward to Irving at TD Garden just as much as they were waiting for the NBA Finals!

It was in the middle of all this that Chandler Parsons, who played for the Mavs from 2014-2016, came forward with an interesting subject. Just like Kyrie in Boston, the Latvian big man was part of the Dallas squad (2019-2022). Given his affinity for injuries and postseason shortcomings, Porzingis did not find footing in Dallas. And at the 2022 deadline, he was traded to Washington. However, not before a rumored beef with the Mavs superstar, Luka Doncic.

Parsons, in a recent episode of Fan Duel’s Run It Back, said that there was an “actual beef” going on. “Don’t get it twisted, they do not like [Kristaps] Porzingis in Dallas. Luka did not like playing with him, there is an actual beef there where it’s going to be every time he touches the ball, he’s getting booed.”
Doncic, for his part, denied all of it, going far as to say that Parsons doesn’t really know everything. “That’s why I don’t watch a lot of that. Because people don’t know. “I’ve talked to Chandler Parsons maybe twice in my life, so I don’t know how he would know that. Me and KP have a good relationship. I don’t know why people say otherwise,” the 5x All-Star told reporters on Monday.
