For Deion Sanders’ daughter Shelomi it’s kind of a 50-50 situation as she steps into a new chapter of her basketball career. As the basketball phenom has committed to Alabama A&M, she has gathered flowers from Coach Ebi Ere who gifted her the title “work horse”.
However, there still seems to be a void as she is yet to receive words of appreciation from her father, Coach Prime. Now that Deion Sanders is always the biggest fan of his kids, this is not the case in terms of Shelomi. Ever since she left the Colorado Buffaloes program and has been inclined to mother, Pilar Sanders’ path, the Buffs HC has created an invisible wall around him.
The grind never stops for Shelomi

After a disastrous last season, Shelomi is finally making a comeback. Her efforts could be noticed in the hard work that she has been putting in, to propel the A&M program to the top. In the video, the new Alabama recruit is seen running across the basketball court nonstop. As she dribbled across the court making numerous attempts to make a basket, her efforts did not go unnoticed. The coaching mentor, Ere gave Shelomi a shoutout on Instagram. Posting a clip from her practice session, the mentor wrote, “Work is work! And @shelomisanders is a work horse. Individuals, group, 2 a days, and conditioning. Never complained once, she just asked for more work.”

Hard work is something Shelomi is not scared of. She is all ready to hustle particularly after being sidelined from the first six games due to injury while she was in Colorado. The Buffaloes has not been a good experience for Deion Sanders’ daughter since she scored a season-low two points. It was after that moment that she decided to part ways and try her luck in another program. Unfortunately, her decision did not go well with Coach Prime.
Deion vs. Pilar’s clash of perspective on Shelomi’s future
It has been a tradition in the Sanders family that it is Deion Sanders who carved out the career path for his kids. He has done that for Shedeur and Shilo as well. However, here Shelomi emerged to be a path breaker. At first, she followed her father to Jackson State and then to Colorado. Hence, never in his wildest dreams, Coach Prime thought that Shelomi would be hitting the transfer portal. This disappointment in Sanders could be noticed in the immediate interview that followed where the concerned father tagged Shelomi’s decision as “stupid”.

However, he and her ex-wife, Shelomi’s mother failed to be on the same page. While the Buffs HC seemed to be not convinced about the basketball star making her way out of Colorado, Pilar appeared to be her support system. She gave a shoutout to Shelomi by sharing her practice video on Instagram with the caption, “We got thangs to do”.
Recently Shelomi has been seen collaborating with $65.25 billion hotel giant, Marriott Bonvoy. This further confirmed Pilar, who has been a model herself having an influence on her daughter. Now that Deion Sanders wanted her daughter to focus on her talents and skills first, will this move push the Buffs HC further away from Shelomi?
