Tunisian WTA star Ons Jabeur is a champion in making friends. While her besties Paula Badosa and Aryna Sabalenka would confirm that in a second, Jabeur walked some extra miles to extend her friendzone with none other than Novak Djokovic. Not only did she manage to do some research on Djokovic’s favorite on-court snack but also amused Djokovic with her gesture, called her “Minister of happiness.”
Ons Jabeur surprised the former world’s number one ATP star Novak Djokovic by offering him a box of dates. Not only did Djokovic try it and express his delight as he went “mmmmmmmmm” but he hugged the Tunisian WTA star and dropped an adorable message. “Minister of happiness Ons Jabeur gave me delicious present today. My favorite on court snack- dates. Thank you Ons”- wrote the Serb.
Now if you a true Djokovic fan then you must know that dates are his favorite on-court snack. Back in 2020, a date-selling company from the UK, Deliciously Dates, shared an interesting fact about Nole on their Facebook platform. While asked how he manages his nutrition parallel to his training, this former world’s number one said, “I do really pay a lot of attention to nutrition, Dates are something that I’ve been consuming on the court for a while now. They are a fruit that give you a low glycemic index, which is very important.
Given that Jabeur offered Nole his favorite snack, it showed that the Tunisian keeps an account of the former world’s number one ATP star’s favorites. And why wouldn’t that be? Since the French Open, Jabeur has been showing his admiration for Nole with an exclusive post on the latter’s fourth-round match.
Ons Jabeur asked everyone to “never underestimate” Novak Djokovic
This Tunisian WTA star has been a fan of the 24 Grand Slam winner. During this year’s French Open, Djokovic defeated Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo in an epic five-setter match of three hours and forty minutes. Post-victory, Jabeur opened her social media account to drop a heartwarming compliment for Djokovic. “Never underestimate the heart of a champion”- she wrote adding a red heart emoji that perfectly showcased her admiration for Djokovic’s tennis brilliance.
Jabeur also joined ASICS during the Roland Garros tour, a brand that Djokovic swears by for his footwear needs on the court. This Tunisian wore the Solution Speed FF3 sneakers in the French Open. Now Djokovic partnered with the company to help them design their Court FF Novak footwear series. “I’m just glad that together we have created a shoe that, I believe, is going to be one of the best on the market, if not the best one,”- said the Serb who prefers his COurt FF3 sneakers. Now Jabeur followed in Djokovic’s footsteps by collaborating with this brand.
Jabeur’s adorable gesture for Djokovic again showcased the Tunisian’s caring attitude toward her colleagues. Not only did she win hearts with her friendship with Sabalenka and Badosa but she proved that she is a girl with a golden heart, who cares and loves everyone in the fraternity despite any rivalry.
