Now that the new Bloodline has shown its true colors, fans are waiting for Dwayne Johnson to swoop in and react to the atrocities that have played out so far. Although The Rock’s wrestling gimmick isn’t that of a pure-hearted person either, the recent developments in the storyline could place him in a dilemma.

WWE hasn’t confirmed his arrival yet. However, the speculations have been flying left and right regarding when he might show up. While some believe that SummerSlam 2024 will mark his return, others think that we may not see Johnson until next year. His imminent return may be hoarded until after that of Roman Reigns‘.

Will Roman Reigns return alongside Dwayne Johnson?

The current storyline is weaving in such a way that Dwayne Johnson’s role wouldn’t be clear until he returns to the promotion. However, it seems like The Tribal Chief’s return would be crucial for the story to move forward in a new direction. On the Busted Open Podcast, one of the co-hosts said, “You know, of course, we know at some point, The Final Boss will resurface when the marquee and the lights are hot enough. But I think all of that is kind of none of that can happen. That can’t happen until Roman, I think, comes face to face with this new bloodline and Solo [Sikoa] and probably finds out and gets a taste of how dangerous they are.”

According to the podcaster, Roman Reigns is essential for the company to take the next step in The Bloodline’s story. So, until the Head of the Table is back in the promotion, we may witness a few repetitions in how the Anoa’i family stable operates.

The former WWE Undisputed Universal Champion has been on a hiatus ever since he lost his precious title at WrestleMania XL. Fans have been waiting for a return but haven’t gotten anything yet. WWE also kept away from such updates until Solo Sikoa revealed on SmackDown on 06/21 that his older cousin won’t be returning to the Stamford-based company at all.

This revelation appears to be kayfabe as WWE wouldn’t reveal an official retirement so informally. It could be a part of the storyline and how it’ll shape Reign’s’ ‘change of heart’ that is rumored to happen, making him a babyface. On a previous episode of the Busted Open Podcast, Denise Salcedo talked about how Paul Heyman’s return would be a queue for Roman Reigns to show up to avenge him. Since The Wiseman was recently beaten up by the heel faction, he may not return for a long while. This will further delay The Tribal Chief’s arrival. But if all goes in the favor of his fans, they could see him by the end of this year.
