The Los Angeles Angels reinstated Manoah from the injured list on Wednesday after the 28-year-old righty began the year on the shelf with a finger contusion.
Left-hander Sam Aldegheri was optioned to triple-A Salt Lake to make room for Manoah on the Angels’ 26-man roster.
Los Angeles wraps up a series against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday before travelling to Toronto for a three-game series against the Blue Jays, beginning on Friday. Manoah was reportedly available out of the Angels’ bullpen against Chicago.
Manoah made one rehab start in single-A, where he allowed seven hits, five earned runs and two walks in 4.1 innings while striking out two.
It comes after a trying spring training with the Angels, where the 2022 all-star carried a 9.39 ERA over five appearances and walked more batters than he struck out.
After being selected in the first round of the 2019 draft by Toronto, Manoah spent the first four years of his MLB career with the Blue Jays before injuries limited his effectiveness.
Manoah was taken off the Blue Jays’ 40-man roster to make room for Anthony Santander’s return late last September and was then claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Braves.
Manoah spent much of the 2025 season in the minor leagues, rehabbing from Tommy John surgery and working to return to the majors. His last seven starts of the season came at triple-A Buffalo, where he pitched to a 2.97 ERA and 30 strikeouts over 33.1 innings.
He ultimately didn’t pitch for Atlanta, which non-tendered him in November, making him a free agent.
Manoah then inked a one-year, $1.95 million contract with the Angels.
